It’s mid 2009. The police state is rising. The military is routinely operating on US soil, which is a blatant violation of the Posse Comitatus Act. We’ve got fake news, CIA infiltrated news, and goverment bought news. We’ve even got pundits paid by the Pentagon to give their “personal” take on the war(s)!
Our government has given TRILLIONS of dollars away to banks, with absolutely no benefit for the people. Most if not all of this money has been handled in secret (in spite of promises of transparency) by the Federal Reserve.
The government has taken over corporations unconstitutionally and sold major portions of them to Chinese interests. Speaking of China, the largest holder of US Bonds, we are in debt to this Communist regime to the tune of nearly 500 Billion Dollars. And China is now calling for dropping the US Dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was recently laughed at by Chinese students at Peking University when he falsely assured them that “Chinese assets are safe” in respects to the strength of the Dollar. It appears that everyone else in the world knows how much of a joke our economic policies really are!
We’ve got a President who pushes (through the media and legislation) for more government control in nearly every aspect of our lives: healthcare, business, speech, volunteering, and the environment, to name a few. Obama has appointed “Czars” over many of these and other areas. These Czars have no Constitutional authority, nor does President Obama have Constitutional authority to appoint them, yet they have no oversight from Congress and they only answer to the President, thus circumventing the balance of powers that this nation is founded on.
Under the Patriot Act (Obama voted in support of Patriot Act II, in spite of publicly denouncing it and stating that he’d vote against it), American citizens can be jailed indefinitely for just about anything. The “Patriot Act” and other similar draconian “laws” are all portrayed by the media and government as protecting us, but in reality, we are the target of these unconstitutional laws. Recently the DHS released the Domestic Extremist Lexicon, which listed Constitutionalists among potential terrorists! Apparently, if you believe as our forefathers did, you are now an enemy of the state!
We’ve got over a Million people on our “No Fly List” – most of whom have no criminal history whatsoever… some of whom just happened to have spoken out against the government! Now the government is attempting to turn the “No Fly List” into the “No Buy List” in which folks on the list will not be able to purchase firearms, thus stripping over 1 Million people of their 2nd Amendment right – all without a trial or even formal charges being brought against them!
You’d think with all the tyranny the American people are living under, they’d be pretty upset! Nothing could be further from the truth. The American people have bought into the lie of false Patriotism – a kind of Patriotism that doesn’t cost anything or ask anything of you other than an occasional nod to “the troops”. True Patriotism is quite different and entails standing up to power with truth in times when most are loathe to even know what the truth is. This type of Patriotism is what we need. First, we need to know what we’re fighting for.
